Ian Holswich is a licensed builder with over 50 years of experience in the construction industry. He began his career as an Apprentice Carpenter in Sydney, completing his Carpentry and Joinery Trade Certificate in 1976 and gaining his Builder’s Licence in 1978. Ian worked his way through various roles, including Carpenter, Leading Hand, Foreman, Project Manager, and Estimator, on a wide range of projects across Greater Sydney and regional NSW. He gained significant experience as Construction Manager and Chief Estimator before founding Rapid Construction Pty Limited in 1990.
As Managing Director, he established Rapid as a leading provider of construction and facilities maintenance services, partnering with government and private clients. During the 1990s, the company expanded to include planned and emergency maintenance for the NSW Department of Education and NSW Land & Housing Corporation. Ian’s inclusive management style, sound financial practices, and commitment to client satisfaction contributed to Rapid’s strong reputation. In recent years, he transitioned to the role of Chairman, appointing senior staff as Directors to continue the company’s success.
