Rapid completed delivery of complex civil works for Sydney Trains in the first half of 2023 in the Lavender Bay rail sidings adjacent to the Harbour. The work included deep concrete pilings for stanchions and guy-cable footings. A mixture of hi-rail and other machinery was deployed to drill, cage, and pour concrete piles, supported by permanent steel casings welded in 2 to 3 metre sections. The steel casings are required due to the type of soil and other geotechnical aspects of the location. Significant environmental controls were required to prevent contamination of the Harbour. Upon completion of concrete piles, each is topped with a separately formed, reinforced and poured pedestal.
